frequently asked questions

How long is the average route?

The average route typically takes around 4 hours to complete.

How do we load up the vehicles?

Drivers load their vehicles using the FILO (First In, Last Out) method to ensure efficient deliveries.

Can I drive a vehicle that isn't registered in my name?

Yes, you can. As long as the vehicle is insured, registered, and you are listed on the insurance policy.

If you’re in Ontario, Canada, a signed letter of consent from the registered owner is also required, granting you permission to drive the vehicle.

What type of insurance do you need to drive with us?

Insurance requirements for meal delivery drivers vary by province or state. At a minimum, you must have personal auto insurance. In some regions, you may also need commercial coverage or a delivery-specific add-on (hybrid policy).

As an independent contractor, it is your responsibility to ensure you maintain up-to-date insurance that meets all legal requirements for providing delivery services. This must be done at your own expense.

Can I use a previous criminal record check for my application?

Yes, you can—provided the results are from within the past three months. If your record check is older than that, you’ll need to complete a new one.

How long does the onboarding process take?

The onboarding process can be completed in as little as 48 hours! It typically involves four simple steps:
Apply → Submit Documents → Complete Background Check → Final Approval

Please note: This timeline depends on whether we’re actively hiring in your area and if you’re able to submit all required documents promptly. If we’re not currently hiring in your region, we’ll place you on a waitlist and reach out as soon as opportunities become available.

How are the routes planned?

We select a number of tasks and optimize them to start at the warehouse and finish near a main road, allowing drivers to have quick access to return home, while also leveraging a balance of distance and customer requested delivery windows.

How do I pick up routes?

Drivers submit their availability during the sign-up period and are assigned routes based on scheduling and operational needs.

How is the route rate calculated?

Route rates are determined by evaluating several factors, including the route’s start and end points, the total number of tasks, estimated kilometers, and the average service time per task. These elements are used to generate an Estimated Route Time, which is then multiplied by the applicable hourly rate to calculate the final route rate.

Where do I go to pick up the orders?

You will pick up orders at your designated warehouse location, which is provided to you during your onboarding.

What am I delivering?

You’ll be delivering fresh, ready-to-eat food items such as salads, oat cups, fruit and vegetable snack packs, juices, and more. Each order is packaged with an ice pack inside an insulated cooler bag. Deliveries must be treated as “load and go” to ensure products remain within safe timing and temperature limits.

Are there specific vehicle requirements for doing deliveries?

Yes. Most standard vehicles are suitable, with a few exceptions. Small 2-door coupes (without hatchbacks) and trucks with open beds are not eligible. If using a truck, it must have a bed cap (not just a cover). All vehicles must provide adequate cooling and protection from the elements. Air conditioning is mandatory during warmer months to maintain product quality.

What sort of experience do I need?

You should have a minimum of 2 years of driving experience with a clean driving record—ideally with few to no accidents or traffic violations.

What is a delivery like?

Deliveries are straightforward and designed for efficiency. You’ll pick up pre-packed orders from the warehouse, follow a pre-planned route using the app, and complete deliveries directly to customers. Most deliveries involve leaving the order safely at the customer’s door, taking a quick photo for confirmation, and moving on to your next stop.

How do I know when I have been assigned a shift?

Once routing is finalized and rates are calculated, drivers are sent a text with all key details, including the number of tasks, estimated kilometers, estimated route time, scheduled arrival time, and route rate. The text will include a confirmation link that you must click and fill out to officially confirm your shift.

Do I have to drive every weekend?

No, drivers are not required to drive every weekend. We offer an open sign-up period from Monday through Wednesday, during which drivers can submit their availability before routing begins on Thursday.

What if I need support on the road?

The platform we use includes an in-app chat feature, giving you quick and direct access to your assigned dispatcher without needing to switch between apps.
